General Information/Venue

WOCSDICE 2007 will be held in the "Don Orione Artigianelli" Cultural Centre, an old monastery built in 1422 now transformed into a modern conference centre with state-of-the-art facilities. It is located on the "Zattere", one of the most beautiful and typical Venetian waterfronts, at walking distance from the Accademia Bridge over the Grand Canal, with a wonderful view of the Giudecca Canal and the island of Giudecca.

How to reach Don Orione Artigianelli Cultural Centre

From the city centre

Take waterbus service 1 or 82 (direction Vallaresso) and get off at Accademia. Go up the Rio Terrà Foscarini to the left: you will find the Artigianelli Centre on your right after about 200 metres, opposite Sant'Agnese Church.

From the Santa Lucia railway station

Take waterbus service 51 (faster) along Giudecca Canal. Get off at “Zattere”. Go along the waterfront to the right, cross a bridge and soon after the large Gesuati Church, the entrance to the Centre is at number 909/A behind the Church.

Alternatively you can take waterbus service 1 or 82 (direction Vallaresso-Lido), and get off at “Accademia”. Go up the “Rio Terrà Foscarini” to the left: you will find the Artigianelli Centre on your right after about 200 metres, opposite Sant'Agnese Church. The ride takes approximately 35 minutes.

From the Piazzale Roma car terminal

You can take the same waterbuses leaving the Santa Lucia railway station, since all the waterbus lines serve the two stops.

Waterbuses start from the Santa Chiara stop, located on the left hand side of Piazzale Roma, opposite the car parks, below the ACTV public transport office.

From Marco Polo International Airport

From Marco Polo International Airport you can get to “Zattere” stop (about 100 metres from the Artigianelli Centre) by the Alilaguna launch service. From “Zattere” stop, go along the waterfront to the right, cross a bridge and soon after the large Gesuati Church, the entrance to the Centre is at number 909/A behind the Church.

Public transport ticket info

Tickets can be bought at waterbus stops except sometimes at off-peak times, as well as at tobacconists' and some newspaper shops and kiosks.

Single tickets and Travel Cards

The waterbus ticket fare is € 6.00.The ticket is valid for 60 minutes on the Venice network, excluding the Alilaguna, Fusina, LineaBlu and Clodia lines. Single tickets can also be bought on board. In this case, however, you must be careful to request the ticket from the attendant as soon as you board.
One-day Travel Card for € 12,00, valid for 24 hours from the time of stamping.
Three-day Travel Card for € 25,00 valid for 72-hour from the time of stamping.
